Hello Kittys ♡
Welcome to my dreamy kitchen, where tradition meets patience and love ♡. Soft on the outside, rich and fragrant on the inside, Mooncakes (月饼) are one of the most iconic Chinese pastries. Traditionally enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival, they symbolize reunion, family, and harmony. Dense yet delicate, sweet but balanced, mooncakes are not everyday desserts, they’re meaningful, ceremonial, and deeply rooted in Chinese culture.
What Are Mooncakes?
Mooncakes are baked Chinese pastries made with:
• a thin, golden syrup–based crust
• a rich filling (lotus seed paste or red bean paste)
• sometimes a salted egg yolk representing the full moon
They must rest 1–2 days after baking so the skin softens and flavors fully develop, this step is essential.
𐙚 This is a short recipe for the Mooncakes, but below these pins, you can find a full, explained recipe just for you!
